Burns
First Degree
A mild burn that causes
the skin
of the victim to become soft or
tender. It may also cause it to
become red. Treat immediately
by holding under cold water or
applying cool, wet compresses
until there is small pain or no
pain at all.
Second Degree
In a Second Degree burn,
blisters will most likely form.
Run it under cold water, let
it dry, and then cover it with
a sterile gauze pad. Do Not
Break Blisters or Apply
Butter, Creams, Sprays,
Or Ointments.
Third Degree
This is the worst burn.
Skin will
charred or burned away. Nerves
will be damaged so the victim
may feel no pain. Don't try to
take off clothing or Apply
Butter, Creams, Sprays,
Or Ointments. Wrap a clean
sheet around victim, treat him/her
for shock, and get medical attention
right away.

Cuts
Small Wounds
Wash hands with soap and water.
Using antiseptic can prevent
infection. Keep the wound clean
with a bandage and get a new one
about every other day or less.( On
camping trips clean and rebandage
every day or less)
Larger WoundsTreat
these using direct pressure.
Keep the wound clean to limit
infection. Use a sterile gauze pad
or a clean cloth made into a pad.
If the victim has a serious wound
treat him/her for shock and show
the wound to a physician.
